They partner with trailblazing grassroots organisations around the world and share knowledge and best practice to accelerate change. As part of their organisational transformation, The Orchid Project was looking for a CEO to be based in their newly opened Nairobi office.
The Brief
Red Sea inherited the search from another agency because our strong networks in Kenya were essential for meeting the brief for a national CEO. Given the time the Board had already invested in the appointment, they needed us to design an efficient process.
Our Services
- Executive Search
Recognising the critical importance of local connections, we leveraged our extensive African networks to streamline the search process. Our creative and strategic approach to the search involved a thorough exploration of potential candidates. This resulted in a shortlist that showcased the exceptional leadership qualities of four accomplished Kenyan women.
The Board was pleased to appoint Asenath Mwithigah to the position in 2022. Asenath's leadership journey, combined with her commitment to the cause, aligns seamlessly with the organisation's mission to end FGC globally.
Looking ahead, The Orchid Project under Asenath's leadership is positioned to make significant strides in its mission. The collaborative effort between The Orchid Project and Red Sea stands as a testament to the importance of strategic partnerships in driving meaningful change. Our added value of expansive global networks also played a pivotal role in achieving success.
